A common thread in most queer lives is undoubtedly frustration - frustration towards the inability to self-express, and towards the rigidity of normality. My half of Meanwhile was conceived from a similar kind of frustration, and in this way I think the creative and queer experiences is alike. As an antidote, I hope Meanwhile can become an experimental space for us to create without being shackled by the objects we design.
대부분 퀴어들의 인생의 공통점이 있다면 분명 '불만족'일 것이라고 생각합니다. 자기 자신을 표현하지 못해 생기는 불만족, 그리고 '정상'의 엄격한 범주로 인해 생기는 불만족 말이죠. 저도 비슷한 불만족 때문에 [그동안]의 절반을 구상했고, 그런 의미에서 예술가와 퀴어들의 인생은 비슷하다고 생각합니다. 저는 [그동안]이 저희 모두가 제약 없이 창작할 수 있는 발판을 마련해줄 수 있는 실험적인 공간 및 해독제가 될 수 있길 바랍니다.
